We’re setting off on an adventure to Red Bay/Belmont for some crucial repairs that are just beyond our expertise, and it’s going to take three days of four hours each day! With Hurricane Francine barreling toward Louisiana, we had to re-route, and Route 10 is definitely off the table. So, I quickly adjusted our plans to head north first and then east from Texas.

Everything starts off flawlessly with bright sunny skies and gentle breezes. But then, the GPS throws us a curveball with an HOUR delay and suggests a new route—so we take a leap of faith! (Not sure if that was the best call.) We find ourselves winding through charming back roads and quaint towns, only to get stuck behind a massive tractor-trailer hauling a John Deere that’s so huge that oncoming traffic has to pull off the road!

After two endless hours, we finally pull into the Shreveport KOA in Louisiana. It’s a beautiful campground teeming with activity. The pull-through site we reserved is so unlevel that we have to unhitch and back the RV up to find a flatter spot.

Join us as we give you a mini tour of the campground and let Enzo stretch his legs! Come along for the ride as we head to Alabama—there’s never a dull moment!
